She requested an Antoine-themed picture to this song, 'It Will Be Me' by Melissa Ethridge. The lyrics almost immediately brought this image into my head.

Poor Antoine has had to lose his father, Armand, twice. Once to roboticization and again to anti-Antoine's poison. This is Antoine, the final time, clutching his father's sheathed sword and grieving. The ghostly figure on the wall is meant to be Armand, reaching out to his son one last time. The idea was that since Armand can't touch Antoine directly to comfort him, he'd touch Antoine's shadow or...something. You get the gist.

Nikki said she thought the figure on the wall was Antoine, so I added Armand's mustache and beard even though it interrupts the silhouette a little. I hope the identification is a little easier now. x.x

AHMAHGAWD I finally broke into my acrylic paints that I haven't touched since purchasing many months ago. Everything but Antoine and the candle is acrylic paint. Antoine and the candle are done in markers, because I just can't get that detailed with paint.

I cried while putting down the linework, I'm such a baby. ._. But then, I guess if you don't feel anything when you make art, you're doing it wrong.
